Hi! I'm Lottie.

Born in The Netherlands into an international family, I’ve always had an appreciation for the many ways people around the world make a house feel like home. Now, I live by the ocean in Nova Scotia with my two boys and my husband.

Having lived in various places in the world, I’ve come to realise that home can mean so many things, but one thing is constant: it should feel like a breath of fresh air—calm, joyful, and filled with the things that are precious to us.

That’s why I create original artwork and painterly patterns designed to bring warmth and personality and love to your space. Whether it’s a bright floral or a wooded landscape, my work is crafted to make your home feel as beautiful and unique as you are.

Original Art

Living by the ocean and taking daily walks along the beach with my kids has always inspired my artwork. I love including trees and water in my paintings, often bringing them to life with unexpected colours like neon pink or vibrant purple. I paint on wood because I adore the natural texture it adds—there’s something about it that feels grounding and real. Each piece is designed to bring a bit of nature’s calm and energy into your space, with a touch of vibrant colour and personality that makes it truly unique.

Little Cookery

When my oldest was two, he was determined to cook with me. Though I doubted a child that young could be safe in the kitchen or even enjoy it, I was pleasantly surprised to find that he thrived. It became clear that, with the right environment—small portions, no reading, and colour-coded measurements—he was fully capable of baking and cooking. This experience led me to illustrate compile our favourite recipes into Little Cookery: The Complete Guide to Teaching Young Kids to Cook, which has since helped hundreds of children become independent bakers.

Textiles

I love how textiles have the power to transform a space without requiring a big investment. It’s the little things—a pillow sewn with care or a length of fabric draped over the back of a sofa—that make all the difference. The true magic happens when you choose fabrics that resonate with you, blending them with the things you already own, or simply because they spark a reaction. My designs start with inspiration from the world around me, like a shape on a tile or a colour on an old jumper, and are crafted to bring warmth, personality, and a handmade touch to your home that I hope will resonate with you as well.

Custom Frames

When I finished a painting, I wanted to frame it in a way that truly complemented the design and allowed it to stand as a piece in its own right. Unfortunately, none of the frames available had the right structure, spacing, or texture. That’s when my husband Sam, a European-trained woodworker, stepped in. Using his expertise, he began crafting custom wooden floater frames that not only showcase my artwork but also enhance its presence. Now, these hand-crafted frames are an integral part of each piece, bringing both the art and the frame together in perfect harmony.

Wallpapers

My wallpaper designs are inspired by the wild patterns and the artisanal side of the Arts & Crafts movement. Many summers spent walking the Aldeburgh coast, visiting the V&A in London, and hunting for treasures in charity and antique shops also shaped my work. Each pattern comes from my original artwork or a drawing and celebrates craftsmanship and nature. I hope that my wallpapers don’t just cover walls—but rather add history, creativity, and a handmade touch to the home.
